About Us
Faiwonton is a team made up of two artists - Fai and Tai. Our first collab for merch dates back to 2018!
Here is an overview of our process and how we collaborate on our projects from beginning to end.
Ideation: For all of our merch, we discuss which series we'd like to focus on for upcoming events before narrowing down a list of characters and deciding on a deadline together.
Sketch: Usually the person who feels more strongly about the character will opt to do the sketch and decide the direction for the final design with feedback from the other person.
Line: Done by Tai
Flats: Done based on availability + complexity of design
Shading: Done by Fai
Final Adjustments: We take a quick look at the design together and decide if it's finished, or if we'd want to make changes and commit to edits.
Production: Arrangements with the manufacturer done by Fai
Shipping: Done by Tai
We adjust our process based on our availability because of our very different schedules. Despite the challenge posed by time zones, day jobs, and just life in general, we've found that we can rely on each other's strengths to overcome issues we face on our own and finish projects much faster as a team.
